1. The software
Lingua Mundi / Shikibu is provided by Rex Hernández Language Services (RHLS). The free tier is free to use, with no account required where noted. The paid tier adds the features described on the product page.
2. License
The app is licensed to you for personal or business use as described on the product page. A paid purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive license to use the paid features for your own use.
3. Payments and subscriptions
Payments are processed by Stripe. One-time purchases are billed once; subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. You can cancel a subscription at any time — access continues until the end of the paid period.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the services to store or process unlawful content.
- Attempt to bypass payment, authentication, or rate limits.
- Resell API access or paid features without authorization.
- Misrepresent the products or your use of them.
5. Third-party data
Dictionary data distributed with the products includes material from JMdict/EDICT, KANJIDIC2, Princeton WordNet, J-UniMorph, EJDict, and Universal Dependencies under their respective licenses (see the ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS in the Shikibu repository).
6. No warranty
The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, RHLS is not liable for damages arising from use of the products.
7. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
